The Chemung Valley Audubon Society is active in education, research, and conservation. CVAS is committed to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our conservation and education programs and to welcoming all who wish to work and learn with us. Any person, regardless of age, race, religion, ability, or gender identity, who is interested in wild life study, protection, and conservation, may be enrolled as a member upon receipt of the first payment of dues.

We have monthly meetings every third Thursday from September through December, and from February through May, at 7:00 p.m. at Appleridge, 168 Miller Street, Horseheads, NY 14845. In June, we meet at a local park for a dish-to-pass picnic supper, followed by a trail walk. Membership runs from September to August, and membership in the Society includes the following benefits:

• Monthly mailings of club-sponsored activities
• Voting privileges
• Opportunity to serve as Board member
• Friendship with others who value our wildlife and its habitats

Affiliations

We are affiliated with the National Audubon Society, the Audubon Council of New York State, Audubon New York, New York State Ornithological Association, and Carantouan Greenway. When you join Chemung Valley Audubon Society for $20, you have the option to become a member of the National Audubon at a special introductory rate. If you are a senior citizen or student, you receive a discounted rate, noted on the application. The application must be mailed to, with a check payable to:
